What Should You Do If Your Google Business Profile Suspended?

What should you do if your Google profile suspended? Well, this is a real big problem, and many people have faced this recently because Google has been cracking down on people who have been abusing the system and making pages all over the country when they really don’t have a business there.

So sometimes your business gets caught up in a suspension that seems really unfair. But don’t worry about it. There is actually a way to get your business reinstated, and we’ve actually reinstated hundreds of suspended Google Business Profiles.

So in this article, I’m gonna explain exactly how to get your business profile back up and running and what will be needed.

The first thing that Google needs to know is that you’re an actual business, so we need to prove with actual business documents that you are that business.

They’re gonna need a Secretary of State LLC if you have one of those. They’re gonna need a business license if you have a license for your city. They’re gonna need insurance documents if you have that, and they possibly need a utility bill, like an electric bill with the business name on it.

They need some banking statements. If you have a banking statement that shows the name of the business on that banking statement, or if you have a credit card statement that has the business name on it, that will work as well.

And then those are all business documents. You only need three out of those ones that I mentioned to prove it, and then in addition to that, ideally you have a photo of some signage.

Documents for Google Business Profile Reinstatement

Google may request documents that verify your business name, address, and legitimacy, including:

  • ✓ Secretary of State LLC registration documents
  • ✓ City or local business license
  • ✓ Business insurance documents
  • ✓ Utility bill showing the business name
  • ✓ Business bank statement
  • ✓ Business credit card statement

Important: Make sure your documents accurately reflect your business information and are consistent with your Google Business Profile.

Now the signage could just be of you. You could go to your local FedEx copy shop and print out a vinyl sign and hang it up on a wall and take a photo of that. That’ll work, but if your business actually has signage, that’s even better. Take a photo of the signage, and we can use that as evidence.

Additionally, if you have any tools that you use, let’s say you have a truck full of tools in the back, that can be super helpful. Or if you have a desk, like you’re a drafting company, you have a drafting desk that’s specifically designed for what you do in your job, take a photo of that. That’s good evidence.

And then finally, like business cards, things like that, flyers, those can all help as well.

This all proves that you’re an actual business and where you’re located. It’s ideal that we tie the business name, the address, and the contact information all together with what’s on the Google local page.

This is an example of the email you receive from Google when your Google Business Profile has been successfully reinstated and is once again visible on Google Search and Maps.

That’s really important because if your utility bill says one address but the business Google profile has a different address, that document is invalid. It doesn’t actually help us.

All of the contact information on the documents you’re submitting has to match the address of the Google local page. That’s super important, or they will not let you reinstate.

If you have any questions about how to go through this process, or you’d like someone to do it for you, we offer this service. We have like a 96% success rate on getting people’s Google Business Profiles back up.

Jophiel grew up on a ranch in Paradise Valley, Montana near Chico Hot Springs. Working on the ranch instilled work ethic and self motivation. Filled with this drive, Jophiel started mowing the local school's yards twice a month throughout the summers, at the age of 12. He moved to Billings in 2004, where he has been deeply involved in the local business community ever since. A serial entrepreneur, Jophiel has ran multiple businesses in our local community. The first business, a janitorial and carpet cleaning company, founded in 2005, has employed over 50 locals. Moving on to the media industry, Jophiel and several partners founded Green Directory Montana in the spring of 2007. Green Directory's sustainability ranking software awarded points based on sustainable or "green" actions. These points counted towards a business's total "Green Score," which in turn ranked them against other businesses in their category and throughout the entire site. It also featured a limited edition print version distributed annually. A business acquisition allowed Jophiel to focus on new projects, and a few close business colleagues and Jophiel started Rocky Mountain Mr. & Ms. Magazine, a lifestyle publication for men and women in the Magic City. After a year and a half at the helm of RM3 Magazine, the business was purchased. He now runs a web development company SkyPoint Studios and fathers his son Jaoquin, who plays football, basketball, soccer, and is learning snowboarding from his dad.
