Why does google rank websites?
It would make sense that they rank it to help the user find what they are looking for the quickest and fastest way possible. That’s what Google’s good at.
But how does that explain what’s in it for Google?
Google is able to leverage its’ database of websites, which is considered the best database in the world, by selling ads on top of it. The ads are so coveted and so desirable by businesses because they provide click through‘s from active interested consumers that Google is able to create an auction style market and sell the advertising for whatever a person is willing to purchase it for against the next person who wants it in their industry.
Google Ad Words allows businesses to create a war chest pool which is drawn against to either dominate or participate in these competitive search terms. So this is why Google ranks websites. Search optimization is the most important single factor for a business to consider in today’s marketing environment.
Why is it the most important?
All marketing activites and funnels should lead to the website. This is where all the marketing gains or value proposition will be attributed to and kind of add-up like a savings account for your marketing ad spend. The more competitive your website is, the higher the value of your marketing savings investment ledger is (in obstraction).
This is a conceptualized way of looking at marketing but it does help to draw into perspective that you need to be driving all marketing channels into a bucket that can catch them. If you don’t have a website for example, all your marketing dollars will drive traffic traffic in sales during that month but not contribute to the ongoing marketability of the business and gather any further gains down the road. Where with a website, the value goes up the more people who visit it, the more backlinks created, the more content created, the more social media sites that backlink to it, the more profiles that are online, etc. the more it continues to go up in value and continues to bring in more customers accordingly.
Is highly recommended to improve the quality of your website to check the searches your customers are doing on a regular basis to see how your website is participating in them.
Are you on the first page are you on the second page do you shop in the map listings are you satisfied with the amount of reviews that are on those pages? Where is your business and all these?
