How to fix Yelp issues: We all know that Yelp can be a real sore spot for some business owners. Getting a negative review can cause issues for a business and hurt future sales. The most important thing is to get on negative reviews right away and figure out if they’re accurate or not.
Most reviews need to come from an active account and have a verified reason why they’re leaving the review. If they are not an active account, meaning that they just created the account, you can challenge the review and ask Yelp to remove the bad review.
Yelp will not always do this for you but it is important to be persistent and to work from many different accounts if you can’t get help. I highly recommend going over your Yelp account regularly and looking for any negative reviews that you can challenge.
By default you should challenge every single negative review that comes along. If you can’t get it removed and Yelp is not willing to fix this, then you should write a response to it.
Now this might not always be the best way to handle it. I would work diligently on removal before responding to a negative review. Continue to hit it over and over again with different reports of why it is a false review. You might want to even hit it from different accounts so that it can be removed properly.
It’s really important to spend a lot of time and energy to remove these reviews as they can affect your business negative for the long-term. So how to fix Yelp issues? It is to do your due diligence.
When you go on the Yelp website, you can open up the dashboard for your business by logging in as the manager of the business (this will be the same email account you used to set up the Yelp account/ use the password reset option if you forgot).
Inside the business manager part there is a dashboard and on the left hand side there is a lot of menu options. Down the menu on the left hand side is a tab called Reviews. Click on this and scroll to the negative review and then click the three dots menu bar on the right hand side and select “Report this review”.
Now in the report area they have many different options. You may want to choose the option that states this review was not accurate, but they usually just deny those. One of the best ones to use that actually works for removal is at this review came from a competitor.
Now you can state that this review was dropped by a competitor and it may have been or it may not have been you may not really know. But this is a good option to try and see if Yelp will remove it under those circumstances.
We all know that mistakes happen in business, but we don’t want to be affected forever and have our business go down if we are getting negative reviews for no reason. It can be helpful to get negative reviews as it allows you to see where you need to improve, but that doesn’t mean that negative Yelp reviews are something that should be on your permanent record forever and bring down the revenue of your business.
So how to fix Yelp issues is to always be watching your account like a hawk and willing to put in the time and energy to flag a negative review over and over again until they’re willing to take action and remove it from your account. I realize this article may be controversial, but I am not encouraging lying. I am encouraging you to fix and address whatever issues might have caused a relevant negative review, but also remove that negative review from your online presence.
