How long does ranking on Google take?

Ranking a website on Google is a long process. Brand new websites have no authority in the Google search engine and therefore won’t rank on competitive searches for anything.

It takes at least a few weeks and usually a couple months for websites to rank, even for their own keywords. That means a business name can take a while for it to come up when people are searching for it and find the website.

Factors such as how much content is on the website, how often the content is updated, how many backlinks, and how many business profile sites online or are pointing to that particular website as the main website for the business, are all factors in how quickly a website will rank.

Websites that do not have very much content will have a very hard time ranking. Content really is the main key factor in ranking a website because the spiders need something to anchor and grab onto.

Less content the harder it is for search engine spiders to index and categorize what is happening on the website. That is why it’s so important to have a blog such as what you’re reading right now. A blog can be updated regularly with information that’s important to your business.

If you’re looking to do the same for your business, you will want to write blog posts on your website regularly. This website has over 300 blog posts. Every single blog post that’s written on this website has been SEO’d to the green level (the highest level) on the SEO Yoast plugin. This means that the blog post is optimized completely and will index the best.

So when you’re looking to rank a website, you want to be patient, but also work hard at it. There’s no reason why a brand new website shouldn’t be able to rank within 3 to 6 months of hard work.

If you want a site to rank on a national scale, you’ll need to put in tons and tons of effort and it may not be possible to rank for the keywords that you want. Being realistic on what is possible in SEO is also important as well.
