That would be filling out exactly what it is that you do in your website in the most specificity possible.
It’s important to fill your website with all of the interesting things about how you run your business: what’s important in your craft or trade, what’s new in your industry, how you do things differently, what your approach is, what your techniques are, what your methods are, what your tools are, Etc.
These are just a few examples of what should be on your website. I know I started this out with what should be on your website as the most important, but really feeling out exactly what you do from A2Z is the most important.
How do you go about this?
Well, I would look at it from a new customers perspective and go through all the different ways that a customer might approach your business and look for products or services that you sell.
Sharing stories about how you helped customers in the past solve their problems and how that worked out successfully what challenges do you overcame for them and how happy they were because of that is a really good way to go.
Ideally you can share actual client testimonials on the website that you have screen cut and copied and pasted into a gallery slideshow on your website. So focus on this and work on this overtime. It’s unreasonable to expect to have all this done in one day or two days or to expect somebody else like your web developer to do all this for you.
It’s imperative that you as a business owner takes time to write down what’s going on inside the business from your perspective, because you know the business the best! If you aren’t doing this, you’re missing out on a huge opportunity to lay out what is your role in the industry and why you are considered the expert in your field. I highly recommend getting a handle on this and focusing on updating the website at least once or twice a month.
Ideally, you could do the 260 day challenge which is extremely hard to do, but basically it goes like this write a blog post about your business every single day for 360 days a year and post it on your website blog. It is almost guaranteed recipe formula for success. And I challenge you the reader to do this challenge!
If you do, report back here in the comments as I would like to support your blog, if you can actually pull it off. It takes a lot of discipline to be able to write that consistently and to share your knowledge about your business that openly, but the rewards are immense. Make sure your website is able to be used on mobile devices as well.
