What is Connect Club?

Connect club is the latest social media app that is very much metaverse and social networking in one. The app is currently focused on NFTs, artists and creators and cryptocurrency. They do plan to expand to more fields in the future, however, they want to emphasize a focus on the metaverse and creators/artists.

In Connect Club everyone can enter rooms and move about the room to get close to people who are speaking and they can hear them.

If you’re across the room and not in the circle you will not be able to hear the person who is speaking. This is very similar to how it would be in a real room in the real World. What is neat about Connect Club is that there is a possibility to use video or audio.

So people can be in a room talking to each other and they can see each other very much just like Zoom. This feature is really cool and makes it truly social media in the metaverse.

There’s also a screen in the middle of the room where people in the room are able to share their screen from their computer. This makes it great for presenting, or watching videos together.

There are even some rooms that will have a movie night, one particular room does one on Friday nights, where everyone watches a movie together. This is truly the metaverse and the next future of social media, in my opinion.

Connect Club has 3 different types of rooms:

1. Broadcasting rooms Similar to Clubhouse in that there are speakers on stage and people in the audience. When you first join a Broadcasting room, you will be in the audience and will need to raise your hand and be invited on stage or be invited onto the stage by a speaker.
2. Open Rooms The second type of room is an open room. These open rooms are where visitors go for the welcome room where there are always hosts available to show new Connect Club members around. The open rooms are open to everyone and everyone can speak. They can also move around the room as they like and join different conversations.
3. Multi Rooms The third type of room is a hybrid of the first two and it is called a Multi room. The Multi room is like a lounge with furniture and a stage, the members can hang out in the lounge and chat while there are people on stage presenting. Very much how an in person conference event would be.

The app is relatively new and there’s only a few thousand people on the platform so far. It is invite only, so you’ll need an invite to get onto the platform.

Some of the cool things that you can do on your profile on Connect Club are link to your websites and your social profiles. I highly encourage going into your profile and filling it out as completely as possible.

The way to hyperlink on your profile, is to highlight the website or social platform that you want to link and in the menu that pops up, scroll to the right arrow and then it will show link. On this open box, paste the link from your clipboard and then save it.

This is a neat little trick to be able to hyperlink all the links on your profile. This app is really truly the future and I feel like it’s going to blow up soon.
