Industry focused content is the way to have a successful blog.
Why would I make this statement?
It seems like most blogs are written towards the customer, however, this isn’t necessarily the best recipe for success. For some products and services that may be necessary, but for anyone who is looking to increase search engine optimization or SEO you’ll want to write industry focused content.
So just like my blog here, I write about ways to do web design and SEO, I don’t give advice or write for my customers, per se. I write for my industry and the reason for that is that Google can pick up on the fact that I’m an expert in my field.
When Google scans a blog and looks for the content to figure out where to place the website, they’re going to pick up on the fact that the content is related to web design. If I was to write for the customer, it wouldn’t rank as well.
So my content is always about how my process works, tips & tricks of the trade and such that other web developers might be able to use.
Now many people who are in business are not going to like the fact that they have to write to help their competitors by giving them their secret tips and tricks.
I totally understand that!
However, if you want to be successful in search, it’s important to focus on industry related content. The better you can position yourself as an expert in your field, the better the website will rank in Google search.
Check out the rest of our Tech Blog for context on what I’m talking about. It’s evident that every single article is technical and not necessary for the customer, but for those who are in the web design industry.
