Did you know that Google Business Profile adds social media?
This is a new feature that they have just rolled out and many people don’t know about it yet. To go to your Google Business Profile it’s a map listing that most people are familiar with for businesses that will pull up when people are searching for your business locally.
It’s important that the information on this listing is accurate as possible if you wanted to pull up at the top when customers are searching for your business. The more accurate and more detailed, you are about all the different information, the more likely it is that you will beat out the competition and be picked first on the Google Maps listings.
Now that they offer social media profiles, we wanna go through and add all the different social media profiles that we can add. The total amount of profiles you can add is seven and the list is:
- TikTok
- YouTube
Make sure that if you have all these accounts that you go to the proper URL for those accounts and copy that and and paste it into the social profile are. You can find this under your business information on your Google listing profile. Click edit your business information and scroll down you’ll see that there’s now an area for social profiles.
Filling this out is a great way to show your customers that you have all these profiles for your business. People want to shop with businesses who are also properly invested in their social media and their local community. When a customer can find you on social media, they can find more about the personality of the business and more about what you’re up to. This helps to put make their mind up as far as whether they should hire you or not.
That’s why I highly recommend making sure you have all seven profiles are completed and that you’re also updating them regularly with consistent content. Nothing worse than going to a companies Facebook page and seeing that they haven’t posted since 2014. Doesn’t give you a whole lot of confidence that they’re up-to-date on all their latest technologies, training and certifications that they might need to run their business smoothly.
Not to say that means they aren’t, but it does make you start to wonder. If you do look at a competitor who just posted yesterday and have some good content, you may want to go with them instead. So this is why it’s important to update everything and have consistent social media as well as a consistent Google Local Listing profile. It’s great that Google Business Profile adds social media so we can have a more complete picture of businesses.
