There’s many different ways to build your business, one of the best ways I’ve found is networking. When it comes to networking there are many different groups out there from the Chamber to Biz to Biz, but they’re all pretty much the same.
They have a structurized flow to them and they focus on getting leads and following certain rules. If those rules aren’t followed then there’s penalties like having to put a dollar in a box for example.
I want to talk today about a networking group that breaks all those rules in a good way. ENG or Executive Networking Group is a bunch of business owners and leaders who get together every Wednesday morning for breakfast and coffee and discuss ways of building their business and dealing with the challenges that come with being the boss.
Just this morning we discussed some great ways to handle employee morale and to deal with cold calling in the best manner possible. It was a very enlightening session and everyone shared some good concepts and ideas.
What’s neat about this networking group is that the focus isn’t necessarily on getting leads out of the group, but relationship building instead. We all know that relationships are how business gets made not just because of a membership in a group. It’s always because the person truly wants to do business with you.
